IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Brooks
Johnson
June 26, 1955 – March 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Brooks (Hawkins) Johnson, who passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 70 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Patricia was born on June 26, 1955, at the Presidio of San Francisco Hospital in San Francisco, California. During her childhood, she had the unique opportunity to live around the world, including time in Japan and Hawaii, before settling in West Point, Mississippi, where she attended high school. She later made her way to New Mexico, living in Los Alamos before eventually settling in Albuquerque, where she spent her later years surrounded by those, she loved most her daughter and grandchildren.
Patricia was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. Her relationship with God was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and the friendships she built within her church community.
She had an extraordinary talent for quilting and shared that gift generously with others. Each quilt she created was a reflection of her love, care, and creativity, treasured by all who received them. Her friends and family meant everything to her, and she showed her love in countless quiet, meaningful ways.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Gains Benjamin Hawkins Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Foreman Hawkins.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Stacey Harris; her cherished grandchildren, Nickolas Harris and Kylie Harris; her siblings, Gains (Holly) Hawkins, Caley (Liz) Hawkins, Polly (Brooks) Timmerman, and Liz Stringer; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at First Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, with the date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Muros De Salvación in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Therockhomecare7@gmail.com), the facility that lovingly cared for her.
