Patricia Veronica Gonzales

Patricia Veronica Gonzales, age 72, a resident of Albuquerque and Gonzales Ranch NM passed away in her sleep on Friday July 17th 2026. We know she was gracefully welcomed into heaven. 

Patsy was born in Albuquerque in 1954 to parents Ralph and Lola Garcia. Patsy has devoted her life to taking care others. At the early age of 13 she joined the Canossian Sisters and Casa Angelica. She then married to Ray Gonzales in 1969 in El Paso, TX. Together they have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Patsy had a dream to care and serve others. Early in their marriage she had 2 children. Patsy, as a young mother was inspire to care for others. She was proud to be a nurse in Head Start preschool. During her experience At Head Start she recognized her community in the north valley was underserved in childcare. Patsy returned to school to Albuquerque T-VI, and later opened an in home childcare serving 6 children. She then accomplished her dream of opening Cuddles Child Learning Center, a childcare center. The childcare was licensed to serve 120 children, in ages of 6 weeks to a before and after school program. She made sure all children were served warm meals daily. Cuddles supported many low income families, single parents and foster care children. In addition she helped the surrounding schools clothing banks assuring all children at Mission and Alvarado Elementary Schools had shoes, clothes and jackets. Patsy was a role-model of perseverance, dedication, empathy and compassion.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Lola Garcia, and her son Anthony Rudy Gonzales. She is survived by loving husband Ray Gonzales who dedicated himself for the past 10 years to the care of Patsy. In addition she leaves 5 children Kimberly Gonzales, Antoinette Gonzales, Ramon Gonzales III (Michelle), Leveada Martinez (Jason) and Rosemary Vigil. Patsy adored her grandchildren and each child felt special as she made each one a personal song, adored grandchildren: Angelica, Monae, Brianna, Alec, Alyssa, Ramoncito (IV), Lilleanna, Diego, Lucas, Jade, Mariah, Tony, . She loved all her great-grandchildren Aurelia, Caylem Teofilo, Emmitt and Sawyer. She is also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews, family and friends. For over 20 years she has had a amazing friend Sonia (Jose)that has deeply cared for Patsy, and has become a dedicated special honorary daughter with additional honorary grandchildren Anarika and Anari. We are all honored to be loved and cherished by Patsy.

Pallbearers will be Ramoncito IV, Diego Martinez, Damian Lucero, James Lucero, David Gonzales, Jerry Gonzales. Honorary Pallbears Joseph Gonzales, Lucas Martinez, Tony Vigil and Isaiah Henry.

Join us as we honor her amazing life. Services begin with open visitation from 5:00-6:00 PM, Thursday, July 23, 2026, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated 9:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2026, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114, with interment at 10:30 AM, Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd., Albuquerque, NM 87102. We invite all family and friends to join us for lunch 11:30 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
