Paul Kelley Baker, 99 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Born March 27, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, Paul served his country throughout his life, first in World War II and then as a Major in the United States Air Force Reserve. A graduate of Creighton University, Paul and his family moved to New Mexico in 1958, where his career in laundry supply sales spanned over 30 years and provided him the cherished opportunity to travel the southwest.
Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Committed to community, in his retirement he was a regular volunteer at the University of New Mexico North Course. An active man beyond his golf game, he also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Ever the airman, he loved every opportunity to fly.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his sons, Betty Baker; second wife, Shirley Baker; and youngest son, Jeff Baker. He is survived by his brother Jim Baker; son Jim Baker (Rita); granddaughter Erin Baker; niece Mary Baker; and his many cherished friends from the North Course, especially Mike Hurley, whose friendship to Paul was incomparable.
The family wishes to thank Brio Assisted Living and Roadrunner Healthcare for their considerate care of Paul in his final time on this earth.
Paul will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe in a private ceremony.
