It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul David McLane Sr., who passed on March 19th, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 67. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Paul was born on December 24th, 1958, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Alfred and Betty McLane. Paul was the youngest of five children: Melissa, Michael, Mary, and Maureen, who shared a wonderful childhood together.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Herminia McLane; his six children, Meghan, Karen, Eduardo, Juan, Isabella, and Paul Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Angel; his brothers-in-law, Clyde and Larry; and his eight grandchildren, Ayden, James, Cassidy, Ezra, Logan, Orianna, Lilly, and Hunter; and many extended family and friends who were an important part of his life.
Paul had a deep fascination with learning and pursued over 200 college credits throughout his education. He earned a degree in Art & Business and continued studying history well into his later years, even pursuing coursework into his 60s. He was a firm believer in lifelong learning.
Paul was an avid traveler who found beauty in every place he visited. His family will forever cherish the memories of the many places they experienced together. In his retirement and spare time, Paul enjoyed handcrafting wooden dollhouses, gardening, watching classic action movies, studying world history, and listening to audiobooks, often while enjoying his favorite Marlboro cigarettes and a glass of iced tea or Coca-Cola.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Respects can be paid at his viewing on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at 4pm at Daniel’s Family Funerals & Cremation (2400 Southern Blvd SE), with a celebration of life to follow on April 10th, 2026, at 2pm at the Ventana Ranch Community Center (10001 Rainbow Blvd NW).
