ALBUQUERQUE, NM – It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, aunt, grandmother and friend, Paula Smith Harnish, who left us peacefully on the morning of December 27 in Albuquerque. She was 77 years old, the daughter of the late Floyd and Rosanne Smith of Santa Fe.
Originally from Lewiston, Montana, Paula was the heart of our family. She was an incredible cook and a "second mom" to so many, always making sure everyone felt loved and fed. She loved to travel, entertain and was a lover of all animals (except birds, she did not care much for birds).
Paula’s legacy of love continues through her family. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen; her son, Scot and his wife Chelsea; her cherished grandson, Thomas (fiancé Alyssa); her beloved granddaughters, Tasha (husband Jay), Shyanne (husband DJ), Kenzie, Jadyn, and Madison; and her great-granddaughter Presley. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews—JoAnne, Tiffany, Patrick, Jeff, and Jamie—whom she adored.
Paula was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Larry and Kip; her sister, Anne; and her niece, Suzanne.
A very special thank you to Joann S. and Heidi O. for the love and support they gave our mom and family.
We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating her life:
