Age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Lemitar, NM on September 3, 1935, to Manuel and Teodora (Baca) Silva. Pedro grew up on the family farm in Lemitar and graduated from Socorro High School. After school he served his country in the U.S. Army post World War II. Pedro went to work for the Socorro Electric Coop and retired in 1996 as a field engineer after 40 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and working around the house. He loved working in his vegetable gardens and he grew many fruit trees. Pedro was a hard worker and first and foremost he was a family man. After retirement, he and his wife Carmen spent much of their time traveling in their RV. Pedro will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Peter Silva Jr; brothers, Jose, Gabriel, Ismael, Adolfo and Valentin. Pedro is survived by wife of 60 years, Carmen (Benavidez) Silva; his children, Angela Marino and husband, Richard, Kathy Silva, Cecilio M. Silva and wife, Connie, and Miguel Silva and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Darrin Marino, Xavier Banda, Marisol Silva, R.J. Marino, Junior Silva and Sonni Brito; brother, Ramon Silva; and sister, Lolita Frederick. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10:00 am. Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Cecilio Silva and Miguel Silva.
