Peggy Lucille Jameson
Peggy Jameson, 77, passed away on June 2, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Peggy was born April 17, 1949 in Escanaba, Michigan. She grew up in Gladstone and attended Holy Name Catholic High School in Escanaba. Peggy received her nursing diploma and RN license in 1970 at the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. In 1972, she moved to Albuquerque and began working on the women’s floor at Anna Kaseman Hospital. She later earned her BSN from UNM in 1983 and spent more than 35 years as a floor nurse, and then a charge nurse in the Kaseman/Presbyterian hospital system.
Peggy married the love of her life, Joe Jameson in 1988, and together they enjoyed a full life centered around family, friends, travel and were very active in their church. She deeply loved her children, April Pearson and Adam Radford; her stepchildren, Carol Jameson and Rebecca Jameson; and her grandchildren, Sean Pearson, Anja Pearson, Caleb Jameson-Sisneros, Andrew Minella, Evan Minella, and Marley Jameson-Sisneros. She also remained close to her siblings, who lived out of state.
Peggy will be remembered for the love and care she brought to both her patients and her family. In her leisure time, she played the piano beautifully after more than seven years of study. She was an avid reader who loved learning and participated for many years in her local library book club. She enjoyed all forms of media—music, movies, magazines, and books—and although she loved nursing, she sometimes joked that in another life she would have been a librarian. Peggy also enjoyed arts and crafts and after retirement, belonged to a card making group where she made beautiful cards she shared with friends and family.
Peggy is survived by her sister, Mary Zimmel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Jameson; her older brother, Eugene Rissanen; and her parents, Lucille Rissanen and Eugene Rissanen.
Peggy developed strong connections with several of her caregivers at the nursing facility where she spent the last two years of her life. Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to these special caregivers and her amazing hospice team.
Peggy’s memorial service will be held at Daniels Family Wyoming Chapel, located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, June 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
