Peggy Susan Marquez, 67, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at 9:31 p.m.
Peggy was born on March 29, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Jose and Libby Marquez. She lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family, her beloved dogs, and her community.
After graduating from Rio Grande High School in 1977, Peggy pursued a career in caregiving and healthcare. Through her work, she was able to do what she loved most—care for others, lend a helping hand, and make a positive difference in people's lives. It was the perfect profession for someone with such a generous spirit and compassionate heart.
Peggy was an outstanding, caring, lovable, funny, and down-to-earth woman who would gladly give her last dollar to someone in need. Her heart of gold, warm smile, and selfless nature brought comfort and joy to countless people throughout her life.
She was an avid gardener who loved to cook, and her meals were always enjoyed by family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, and taking long scenic drives. Peggy was known for her warmth, generosity, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to bring positive energy wherever she went. Her home was always a welcoming gathering place for family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her two loving sons, Gino Moya and his wife, Helen, and Jose Zamarripa and his wife, Jasmine; her cherished grandchildren, Elijah Zamarripa, Daymien Hernandez, Serenity Hernandez, and Faybien Ballejos; her nieces, Victoria Hernandez, her husband Dominic, and their daughter Kiera, and Emily Hernandez; and her beloved dogs, Deebo and Oso.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Libby Marquez; her sister, Christina Marquez; her brothers, Phillip Marquez and Anthony Marquez; and her grandson, Michael Vincent Moya.
Peggy's love, kindness, and beautiful spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
