Peter "Pete" Strezo, 84, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Pete was known for the deep love he had for his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, trying to catch a Crosstown Whiting/Clark Classic game, heading to the field to watch baseball, listening to talk radio, and tinkering on his computer in the basement of his Hammond home. His solutions to problems were never ordinary, and he always had a joke to tell or a story to share. A coach and mentor to many, Pete left a lasting impression on everyone whose lives he touched. Above all, his most treasured roles were those of devoted husband, loving dad, and proud Papa.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Linda (Gumkowski) Strezo; his children, Peter Strezo and Leslie Keener (Adam Findell); and the greatest joys of his life, his grandchildren, Kyra, Tyler, and Bailey Keener, as well as his soon-to-be grandchildren, Anna, Sara, and Ben Findell.

In accordance with Pete's wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, honor his memory by casting a line into the lake and trying to catch a big one.
