Philip Daniel Sheets

A native of Albuquerque, Philip was survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Pamela Jean;
Daughter Janice Marie Candelaria and husband Carlos Candelaria; son Steven Howard Sheets;
grandson Daniel Orlando Candelaria and granddaughter Sophia Renee Candelaria. Also
survived by brother Timothy Jesse Sheets and sister Margaret Ruth Sheets. Phil was uncle to
many nieces and nephews.

Phil was the son of Howard Henry Sheets Sr. and Ruth Arlene Sheets. He was predeceased by
one sister Betty Jean Robertson, and three brothers Howard Henry Sheets Jr., Robert Lee Sheets
and Joseph David Sheets.

He attended St. Therese Elementary School, St. Pius X High School, and received a Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico in 1973. Phil became a
Certified Master Well Driller and worked with his dad and brothers in the field. He also held
Plumbing, Electrical and General contracting licenses in New Mexico.

Phil was a long-time active participant in the Boy Scouts of America working with his children
and grandchildren all the way up to Scout Master of Troop 611. Over the years he took his
troop to three national Scout Jamborees and three international World Jamborees (Idaho,
Holland, and Chile). He was a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow and in that capacity
attended three national Order of the Arrow Conferences.
