Phyllis Dawn Smith

Phyllis Dawn Smith, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 with her family by her side at her daughter's home in Bosque Farms, NM. Mrs. Smith was born in Denver, CO on June 2, 1923. She resided in Kansas before moving Albuquerque, NM with her family in 1950. She was a strong and loving woman who cared for her family her entire life. She enjoyed sharing rich stories of her life and growing up in Kansas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren and her mother and father Alberta Ann and Thomas Roland McKimens. Phyllis is survived by her sister Patricia McPhail of Republic, Missouri, three children; Thomas Smith and his wife, Peggy of Tonopah, Nevada; Sandra Chavez and her husband Leroy of Bosque Farm, NM Neil Smith and his wife Yvonne of Rio Rancho, NM; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Service Carlisle Chapel and she will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10:30 am next to her beloved husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
