Prescilla Senn

Prescilla Senn was born on March 23, 1955, in Socorro to Miguel Padilla and Rosa Gonzales Padilla of Luis Lopez.  She passed away on January 1, 2023, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Prescilla graduated from Socorro High School in 1973 and left briefly to study cosmetology in Albuquerque.  She started her career as a hairdresser and went to work for the Plaza Hair Salon in Socorro for 5 years.  Prescilla met and fell in love with her future husband, Randy Senn (also of Socorro), when he was a student at New Mexico Tech.  Some of their first dates involved sports.  She cheered on his men’s city league softball team, the Mugwumps, and he rooted for her women’s team.  She was an outstanding softball player.  Prescilla and Randy married on December 19, 1980, at San Miguel Church in Socorro.  She faithfully followed her husband in his career as a hydrogeologist across the US.  The couple had 3 children, Christopher (40), Amanda (37), Bryan (31).  After she had her children, she dedicated her time to raising them, as well as volunteering and assisting in Randy's business.  Later when her kids were grown, Prescilla devoted her time to working in the lunchroom for various schools in Arlington Heights.  A couple of years later, she lived her lifelong dream when she moved to Seattle to help raise her first grandchild, Evie.  A few years after that she lived another lifelong dream and retired with Randy to Las Vegas, Nevada. They bought an RV and traveled around the country visiting their children and experiencing new places in the Southwest.  They returned to Arlington Heights this past year to welcome their new grandson, Elliott.  Prescilla was best known for her cooking, which was so good it was said to cure any ailment.  If you ever had one of her enchiladas, you'd understand.  Her love of cooking and serving others was one of her most defining traits, and we are all a little better, and rounder, for it.  She brought endless amounts of joy to anyone who was around her.  You couldn't be around her and not smile and laugh.  More than anything, she took care of everyone around her.  If you ask anyone who knew her, they'll have a personal story about how Prescilla enriched their lives in some way.

Prescilla is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Randy Senn, of Arlington Heights, children Christopher Senn (fiancé Laura), Amanda Stockbridge (husband Chris) and Bryan Senn (wife Amanda), grandchildren Evelyn Stockbridge, Charles Stockbridge and Elliott Senn, brother Michael Padilla, sister Annie Williams (husband Steve), nieces, nephews and other extended family.

New Mexico services will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at San Miguel Church in Socorro.  The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.   Immediately afterward, the inurnment will be held at the Luis Lopez cemetery where Prescilla will rest next to her parents.
