Princess Maude Berenger passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was an extraordinary lady living up to her name, who lived a remarkable life by leaving her familiar roots behind in Ceylon when she married her beloved husband of 69 years Collin, which meant leaving family and all that was familiar to her. World travel due to Collin’s profession was a special element of their lives, and they and the family gained countless friends and lifetime memories in these years of international travel. She was an excellent cook, collecting and embracing cuisines from every part of the world they lived or visited. Her dinner parties were legendary. It didn’t matter who you were, you could count on three things: good food, good drink, and a very warm welcome.
She is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne of London, England and her daughter Tanya of Corrales, New Mexico, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who were the light of her life and her relationship with her siblings and extended family was cherished. She touched the lives of so many people around the world, many who she kept in to touch with over the years. She will truly be missed and will never, ever be forgotten.
Princess was so special, she represented the good that we all need every day in our lives. She was one of a select few who could actually rise to meet challenges with a smile or a pithy comment and could find the silver lining to keep pushing forward in any situation. She gave us wisdom, taught us kindness, how to garden and cook!
