Ramona Johnson

Ramona Eduardita Padilla Johnson passed away peacefully in her home in Albuquerque on November 30, 2018, she was 75.    Ramona was born in Belen, New Mexico to Ernesto and Carlota Padilla in 1943. At age 11, Ramona moved to Santa Fe to attend the New Mexico School for the Deaf for ten years. It was there that she met Wayne and they were married in 1969 in Belen. They were married for 33 years until Wayne's death in 2002. Ramona was a devoted wife and mother as she and Wayne raised three children together. Ramona was very close to her big loving family and her wide group of friends from the Deaf community. 

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Johnson; her parents Ernesto and Carlota Padilla; brothers Eloy, Larry, Robert and Stanley Padilla; and sisters Helen Baca and Lucia Padilla. She is survived by her three children; Charlene Johnson, Wesley Johnson, and Ammie Johnson; and three brothers, Bennie, Ruben, and David Padilla. Memorial service will be held at Daniels Family Carlisle Chapel on Friday, December 7 at 12:00 pm.
