Randal Yoakum

YOAKUM-Randal Yoakum, 79, passed away on November 20, 2010. He was born on March 3, 1931, in Tulsa, OK. He came to Albuquerque in 1939 from Newton, Kansas, with his parents, Oscar and Varoqua Yoakum. He attended Monte Vista Elementary, Jefferson Jr. High and Albuquerque High Schools. He married Sarah Alice Craig and joined the Air Force in 1950. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Alice Craig Yoakum, 4 children and their spouses: Kaylynn & Bill Holloman, Randal Craig & Jane (Lovato) Yoakum, Jeannette (Jeanne) & Curtis Bay, and Mitch & Terri (Pesce) Yoakum, and 7 grandchildren: Tiffany (Holloman) & spouse Rich Richardson, Chase Holloman, Joel Holloman, Randal Dean Yoakum, Jenilyn Yoakum, and Asher Bay & 4 great grandchildren: Jack, Luke, Cole, & Cora Richardson. He was preceded in death by his oldest granddaughter Jayme Suzanne (Nicholson-Holloman). A celebration of his life will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM, on Saturday, December 4th at 2:00 pm. A Viewing will be held before the service at 1:00 pm. A Burial Service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 6th at 1:45 pm.
