Refugio Rey"" Vargas

VARGAS " Refugio “Rey” Vargas, 66, passed away on March 16, 2010. Born June 19, 1943 to Frances and Refugio Vargas in San Diego, California. Rey is survived by his wife of five years Frances Vargas; children, Julian Vargas, Yvette ( Jose) Aguilar, Rayette Vargas, Anna (Vince) Yadao, Marie Ramirez, Antoinette (Keith) Green, Susan Vargas (Adan Rojas), Cyndi (Jose) Bustillos, Selina Vargas, Phyllis (Frank) Tapia; Twenty Seven Grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren; Sister Luga Rhodes. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Frances Vargas; Great Grandson Johnny Joe Archuleta Jr. Rey was a life long resident of Albuquerque and a long time sponsor of AA, sponsoring many who needed help and often sponsored those imprisoned. He was also a member of San Jose Catholic Church, where he was a lector. Rey enjoyed calligraphy, visiting car shows, riding his Harley and attending concerts.
