Rhonda Lynn Wesson, age 53, passed away on April 28, 2026, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was born on May 31, 1972, in Austell, Georgia, to Richard and Elaine Danfield.

Rhonda graduated from Sandia High School in 1991 and went on to attend Eastern New Mexico University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1997. On June 6, 1997, she married the love of her life, Trent Wesson, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and together they shared 29 wonderful years of marriage.

Rhonda dedicated much of her life to education, serving her community through her work with Albuquerque Public Schools for 21 years and Santa Fe Public Schools for 7 years. Her commitment to students and colleagues left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bertie Daniel; her father, Richard Danfield; her father-in-law, Freeman Wesson; and her grandmother-in-law, Ara Taylor.

Rhonda is survived by her beloved husband, Trent Wesson of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her son, Alex Wesson of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her mother, Elaine Danfield of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her mother-in-law, Dee Wesson of Portales, New Mexico; her brother, Brian Danfield of Bluffton, South Carolina; and her brothers-in-law, Stuart Wesson of Portales, New Mexico, and Paul Wesson of Chilton, Texas.

Rhonda will be remembered for her faith in Jesus, dedication to her family, her passion for education, and the kindness she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Chapel. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at located at 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
