Ricardo Samuel Delgado

Ricardo Samuel Delgado, 36, of Albuquerque, NM, was called to be with the Lord on March 9, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1987, to his loving parents, Jesus and Yolanda, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who loved him beyond words. Ricardo endured many health struggles as a baby and fought his whole life to overcome them. He didn’t believe in the word ‘No’ and was determined to do things his way.  

Ricardo was an active member of Legacy Church since 1997, where he proudly served as a greeter. He was faithful to God, loved his family and friends wholeheartedly, and was proud to be a Patriotic American. He attended West Mesa High School, where he played football, and continued his studies at Central New Mexico University with aspirations of one day becoming a private detective. Ricardo was a proud employee of Jason’s Deli and was thankful for their support and kindness over the last three years. He will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and how he impacted everyone he encountered. While we know he is resting in the arms of Jesus, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Ricardo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francisco and Maria Gloria Delgado; Samuel Miera and Jennie Miera; His uncles, Francisco Javier Delgado and Antonio Delgado; cousins Mario Delgado Jr., Kassandra “Kassie” Delgado, and Lawrence Miera. Ricardo is survived by his beloved parents, Jesus and Yolanda Delgado; brother, Francisco Javier Delgado; sister, April Ruiz and husband Sigi; nieces, Laela and Bella; and nephew, Ezekiel. He was also survived by many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins who loved him dearly. 

A viewing for Ricardo will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, 6:00-8:00 pm at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.  A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, 10:00 am at Legacy Church (East-Campus) 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
