Richard Baca Jr. passed away on July 23, 2010 in Gallup, New Mexico surrounded by his loving family. He was 52. He was born on July 27, 1957 to Richard R. Baca and Pilar Trujillo Baca in Gallup, New Mexico. Mr. Baca was a loving “big hearted” man that loved people. He was always laughing and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He was a former employee of Cope Memorial Chapel. He enjoyed working out, playing softball, riding bikes and motorcycles. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He worked in Gallup, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, California, and Pennsylvania. He was survived by his parents Richard R. Baca and Pilar Trujillo Baca of Gallup. One son; Sheldon Gurley Baca of Las Vegas, NV. One daughter; Mary Michelle Gurley Baca of Gallup. Three sisters; Darlene A. Espinosa and her husband Joe, Linda L. Baca and Maureen A. Baca all of Gallup. Three nephews; Eric Naranjo, Joshua Espinosa, Trevor Espinosa. Great-nieces and Great-nephews; Jasmine Rose Espinosa, Nathan Sweeten, Dragan Naranjo, and Draven Naranjo. Along with numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Trivenio and Esther C. Baca and his maternal grandparents; Prudencio and Victoria D. Trujillo. A Rosary vigil will be held on Monday July 26, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Cathedral led by Cipri Sanchez. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Ravi Kiran officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A reception will be held following services at the Gallup Community Center. Pallbearers include; Sheldon Gurley Baca, Mary Michelle Gurley Baca, Eric Naranjo, Joshua Espinosa, Trevor Espinosa, Fred Palacios Sr., Joey Herrera, and Ted Trujillo. Honorary Pallbearers include; Sam D. Trujillo, Tom D. Trujillo, Tom Harold Trujillo, Arthur Trujillo, Michael Trujillo, Lawrence Baca Sr., Michael Baca, Tim Baca, Lawrence Baca Jr., and Roberto Aguilar.
