Richard Frank Gitzlaff

Richard Frank Gitzlaff passed from this life on November 18, 2021 in Rio Rancho, NM. Dick was born on July 23, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Arthur and Josephine (Macovic) Gitzlaff. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his 2 sons, James and Douglas, daughter-in-law Sharon and grandson Eric.

Richard was known as Dick to his family and friends. On February 9, 1951, Dick married Dorothy Zingen, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Together, Dick and Dorothy raised 2 sons, James and Douglas. A daughter-in-law Sharon and grandson, Eric completed his family.

Dick received a Good Conduct Medal and The National Defense Service Medal while serving in the US Army. Dick was a heavy machinist for most of his career. Dick moved the family to Rio Rancho in the 1970’s where he enjoyed the quiet desert lifestyle. He really enjoyed being a part of the local chapter of the American Legion.
