Rita Ulibarri passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Beehive Homes of Albuquerque. She is survived by her sons Lou and Steve Ulibarri; her daughters, Sandra Mills and Leigh Springer; her granddaughters, Melissa (Mike) Foote and Michelle (Marc) Addona, her grandsons Matt (Terri) Koester, Chris (Stacia) Springer, Javan (Haley), Seth (Siobhan), and Kyle (Tanya) Ulibarri, 11 great grandkids, 7 great-great grandkids and her sister, Emily Zamora. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Louis Ulibarri, daughter Maxine Koester and great grandson, Brett Addona.

Family was the center of her world, and she was the center of the family. Holidays were always held at her house and filled with good food, laughter and the simple joy of being together. Rita often took care of her grandchildren and even great grandchildren leaving lasting memories for those who were lucky to call her theirs.

She believed in staying active and could often be found exercising. Her determination and vitality inspired everyone who knew her. She also enjoyed the fun things in life. She loved playing bingo, trying her luck at the slot machines and going out to eat. These outings brought her great joy.

She will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery with her husband on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages loved ones to honor her memory by taking a walk, staying active, and spending time with family.
