Robert “Bobby” Atencio, 62, of Blanco, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010. He was born October 12, 1947, in Blanco, to Elias and Frances Garcia Atencio. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Delia A. Garcia, Anita and Cecelia Louise Atencio; and by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Atencio, Jessica Atencio and Yolanda Gutierrez; two sons, Robert Atencio and Cody Atencio; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson; brothers, Daniel Atencio, Ray (Kathy) Atencio, Gerald (Debbie) Atencio; sisters, Martha A. (Steve Valencia, Velma Atencio, Yolanda Atencio; two uncles, Genaro Garcia and Milton Atencio; aunt, Josie Jacques; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Bobbie served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany. He was an artist; loved cooking, poker games, music and was a great story teller. Family and friends are invited to a memorial and celebration of his life at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at 86 CR 4599, in Blanco. All are welcome to share pictures and stories.
