Robert "Bob" Reuben (Howard) McLaughlin

March 7, 1946 — February 25, 2022

Robert “Bob” Reuben (Howard) McLaughlin

Bob finished his brave years-long battle with cancer on February 25, 2022. Bob was born in New York City on March 7, 1946 and lived in Florida and then New Mexico for most of his life.

He was a funny, loving and honorable man who was proud that he served in Vietnam in the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, also called “The Walking Dead” and earned honors including three bronze stars.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Polly, loving son, Josh, and grandchildren, Sean, Molly and Cole and caring nieces and nephews.

Bob, you will remain in our hearts forever. A quote Molly found, “Grandparents and grandchildren, together they create a chain of love linking the past with the future. The chain may lengthen, but it will never part.” (Author unknown).

Bob always had that mischievous Irish twinkle in his eyes, and he loved his Irish heritage and this Irish blessing:

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

the rains fall soft upon your fields, and

until we meet again

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. In honor of Bob's memory, please plant a tree in his memory or donate to a charity of your choice.
