After his retirement from the service, Bruce started an antique restoration business that he operated until 1987. After that, he and Charlotte enjoyed traveling throughout the states and all four corners of the world. His main hobbies were collecting stamps from pre-WWII Germany through its post-war years and golfing. He wintered in Desert Hot Springs, CA where the golf course was outside his front porch. He was a member of the Stamp Clubs both in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho as well as the American Philatelic Society.
