Robert Glee Grindle

GRINDLE-ROBERT Glee, age 79, of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2010, surrounded by his loving family from complications of lung cancer. He was born October 10, 1930; in Clairton, PA. He was preceded in death by infant daughter Susan Grindle, his parents Glee J. and Evelyn Grindle, and sister and brother-in-law Bette and Donald Muir. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally Irons Grindle; son Mark Robert Grindle and wife Vicki of Rio Rancho; daughter Robyn Glee Steele and husband Bobby of Aldie, VA.; grandsons, Andrew Robert Grindle and Dylan Glee Teal; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nancy Irons; nephews, Donald and William Muir and their families, and many cousins. Bob graduated from McDonald High School, McDonald, Ohio, attended Youngstown State University, and enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1958, and from that time until 2001, was a Realtor in northern Virginia. During that time, he was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Optimist Club, Board of Realtors, Order of DeMolay, Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge, Kena Shriners, Elks Club, Family Motorcoach Association, and Great Falls United Methodist Church. Bob and Sally retired to Rio Rancho, NM in October, 2002. He was an active member of High Desert United Methodist Church. Bob will be remembered by his warm and friendly personality, always lending a hand to a friend or stranger. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
