Robert C. Hamilton

Mr. Robert C. “Hammy” “Bob” “Grandpa” Hamilton died peacefully in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on April 8th, 2022, at the age of 85 years old.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Helen “Brownie” Hamilton of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, daughter Cindy Hamilton of Littleton, Colorado, granddaughter Haleh Torbaghan and her significant other Sam of Edgewater, CO, granddaughter Jenn Torbaghan and her husband Matt of Rio Rancho, NM, and great grandson Joshua Doolittle of Rio Rancho, NM.

Robert was born on Saturday, August 1st, 1936, in Richmond, Maine, to Dorothy Gould and Herbert C. Hamilton. He graduated from Windham High School in Windham, Maine, in 1954.  After graduating from high school in 1954, Robert then enlisted in The United States Air Force and attended Riverside Community College for a couple years. He was honorably discharged after 20 years with the ending rank of Master Sergeant. Robert married Ms. Helen F. Brownson in Fort Myer, Virginia, on Friday, October 11th, 1957. They were married for over 64 years and had one daughter.

Robert was employed by the Denver Rio Grande Railroad for 28 years.  Special interests of Robert’s included reading, sports, and playing cards (he always won). Robert was an active member of the Corrales Seven Day Adventist Church. He always enjoyed contributing to the food bank through the church.

A Memorial Service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation located at 3101 S Wadsworth, CO, 80227, on Friday, May 27th,2022, beginning at 9:30AM. Following the service, Burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery located at 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO, 80236, beginning at 12:00PM.
