Robert Lawrence Hansen

Robert Lawrence Hansen (Bob), age 94, passed away on April 5th, 2023, in his home from natural causes.

Bob was born on January 16, 1929 to Lawrence and Evelyn Hansen in Vesper, Wisconsin.  He and his sisters Carol, and Lois, grew up on his parents’ farm where he learned the art of farming as well as developing his skills to build and repair almost anything.  After graduating from Lincoln high school, he joined the Airforce and served in Europe as a communications officer.  Shortly after joining the Air Force, Bob married his wife, Betty Brody, in March 1950, and after 15 years of service, he retired from his position as Captain. 

As part of his Air Force and subsequent private employment, Bob was fortunate to work with some very first computers, as well as some of the world's fastest supercomputers.  He loved working with computers and was proud to be a part of the birth of the computer age. 

In his off time, Bob enjoyed gardening and was an early promoter of organic farming in the 1970’s.  He also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering around in his shop. He became a Christian in 1980 and attended church and bible studies regularly.  He remained a believer, devoted to God, throughout the rest of his life.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Betty, his four children Judy (Richard), Debbie (Mike), James (Carol), and Jacque (Rick), as well as his grandchildren Michael, Jon, Kevin, Eddy, Melissa and Caitlin and great grandchildren Draven, Keira, Madyx, Inara, and Samantha.
