Robert Joseph Majeski

February 16, 1924 — March 25, 2012

Majeski, Robert Joseph Age 88, a resident of Albuquerque for many years, passed away on March 25, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Mary; step daughter, Wendy Chavez and husband George, step daughter, Debbie Phillips and husband Daniel Conejo, and step son, Scott Welsh, Connie Welsh; grandchildren, Lindsay Welsh, and Deondro Nevarez. He was a avid bowler, fisherman, hunter and sportsman. Bob was active as a volunteer for many years. Bob also enjoyed his garden and most of all, his grandchildren. Bob served as a bombardier on B-29's in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a First Lieutenant in the Air Force and received the DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS WITH VALOR for heroism over Japan during a POW supply drop. His actions saved the lives of the entire crew. Bob moved to Albuquerque in 1954. In 1960 he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA degree. In 1964 he was employed by Sparton Technology where he worked for 25 years retiring in 1988. Cremation has taken place and at Bob's request there will be no services. Robert's care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services
