Robert ‘Steel’ J. Steele, 77, of Aztec, passed away November 28, 2010 in Farmington. He was born April 17, 1933, in Utica, New York.
Robert proudly served his country during the Korean War, as a member of the U.S. Army. He received the Korean Service Medal, and five Bronze Campaign Stars.
Steel, as he was known to his friends, worked for Walmart and enjoyed welding, carpentry, plumbing, and fishing.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Hood.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Steele; daughter, Amanda Pacheco (Ernie ) of Aztec; son, Randy Mize (Angela) of Kentucky; five grandchildren, Michelle Aquilar (Andres) of Bloomfield, Santana Pacheco, of Aztec, Auggie Aquilar, Cheyann Aquilar, and soon to be Malisha Bradfield.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill Pace, Ernie Pacheco, Andres Aquilar, Dave Bradfield and George Valdez.
Robert has been entrusted to the care of Daniels Family Funeral Services
