Roberta Irene Isaacson

October 25, 1935 — August 3, 2025

Roberta “Bobbie” Irene Isaacson passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 3rd, 2025.

Born in St. Louis in 1935 to a jazz musician and shoe salesman she inherited a love for music and shoes. Bobbie moved to Albuquerque at the age of 12 and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in art from UNM. She worked after college in California and Colorado in commercial art and returned to Albuquerque to marry Tom Isaacson in 1962 and start a family.

A gifted tennis player, talented artist, and gardener, she also played volleyball, golf, bridge and led an active social life. She was a good friend to many and most of all a fun person. She had a terrific sense of humor and loved to have playful banter with family and friends.

A reluctant leader, she held numerous leadership positions throughout her life. She served as president of the PTA, The Pastel Society of New Mexico, and Director of Yucca Gallery (twice). She was on the board of The Tennis Club of Albuquerque, a Ward Chairman, and last but not least a Camp Fire Girl leader for her daughter and neighborhood girls.

As a person of faith, she held a Bible study in her home for over 25 years and volunteered at Central Place food bank.

She loved movies, games, crosswords, dachshunds, books, a good bargain, and the mountains.

But most of all she deeply loved her family and friends. She always had a cheerful greeting and optimism about her. A truly original person with a playful and unique sense of humor is how she will be remembered.

She is survived by her husband Tom of 63 years, children Christine (Chris) and Jenette (Jenny), grandchildren Joshua and Megan, and great grandchild Chase.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 15th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Daniel’s Family 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
