In Loving Memory of Roberto “Robert” Sanchez
Roberto “Robert” Sanchez, age 84, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on September 28, 1941, in Taylor Springs, New Mexico, to Elogio Sanchez and Cecelia Sanchez.
Robert attended Springer High School and graduated in 1960. He later made his home in New Mexico, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and kindness.
On March 4, 1962, Robert married the love of his life, Angie N. Cortez, in Springer, New Mexico. Together they shared 64 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and countless cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elogio and Cecelia Sanchez; his brothers, Donato Sanchez and Andrew Sanchez; and his sister, Frances Sanchez.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Angie Sanchez of Albuquerque; his daughters, Lucille Sanchez of Rio Rancho and Louise Benavidez of Albuquerque; his son-in-law, Lawrence Benavidez of Albuquerque; his sister, Dorothy Sanchez; his sister, Clara Serbin of Bernalillo; his brother Steven Sanchez; his brother, Ramon Sanchez of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Dominic Sanchez and Angelina Casias; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Robert was retired and enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting casinos, and sharing stories with those around him. He was known for his warm and friendly nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never met a stranger and would stop to talk with everyone he encountered.
A dedicated and hardworking man throughout his career, Robert took great pride in providing for his family. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to those who knew him.
His family will remember him for his generosity, kindness, strong work ethic, and unwavering love. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
