Robin Joseph Tuchler M.D.

Robin Tuchler died on April 10, 2023 from complications of Parkinson’s.  He was born on June 3, 1944 in San Francisco, CA.  He graduated from Stanford with honors and medical school at the University of Colorado. He spent 3 years in the Public Health Service in Crownpoint, NM.  After moving to Albuquerque, he practiced Family Medicine for over 40 years, retiring in 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Cynthia Tuchler; his daughters, Ann Tuchler (David Davis), Sarah McElvaney (Jason), and Ada Portman (Greg); his stepchildren, Lisa Mitchell (Bobby), David Camilli (Shelley), and April Marker (Derek); his grandchildren, Will and Avery McElvaney, Taylor and Addison Portman, Jessica and Dylan Mitchell, Amy, Ashley and Carly Camilli, and Colton and Rylie Marker.

He was preceded in death by his parents Maier and Lois Tuchler, brother Alex, ex-wife Carol Trelease, and his best friends, Phillip Jacob and Ray Rodman.

Robin had an amazing life. Besides being a physician, he was also a pilot, a woodworker, and in retirement he enjoyed learning to fly (crash, repair) RC airplanes. He loved his family and his patients. Practicing medicine was his greatest honor, and his patients adored him. In his last few years, he struggled with being the patient instead of the provider.

Robin’s celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 7^th, 2023 from 2-4 at Optimum ABQ located at 5700 Harper Dr. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109.
