0n February 27, 2019, at the age of 23, Romell Lucky Jordan left a large hole in the lives of countless family and friends. Romell was born to Robert Louis Jordan and Tamala Cade-Manning in Riverside California on June 20, 1995. Romell was preceded in Death by his mother Tamala Cade-Manning. Romell leaves his father, Robert Louis Jordan, his oldest sister Shanika Davidson, older brother’s Robert Jordon Jr., Raymon Jordan, and Rayven Jorden as well as his younger sister Teann Jordan. Romell was known as an uncle with unbounding and unconditional love to his niece’s Ra’Niyah Jordan and Nori Arnold as well as nephew’s Remington and Ray’vion Jordan. It was common for Romell to have a niece or nephew on his hip or to abruptly leave any activity when a baby sitting opportunity arose. Romell also left his surrogate parents Arlan and Carla, siblings Jace (wife Beka), Blake (wife Shelby) and Kacie Swihart as well as countless loving friends and their parents. The truth is, Romell had such a unique gift that he was actually a member of every family that an average person could only refer to as friends.
Romell was an excellent student and gifted athlete. He served as a Student Body Officer at V. Sue Cleveland High School. While a Junior in High School in the fall of 2011, Romell was an All-State Running Back on an undefeated New Mexico 5A State Championship Football Team in 2011. He was the MVP of the 2012 New Mexico State Track Meet by winning the 100 Meter Dash, finishing second in a photo finish in the 200 Meter Dash, and anchored the 4X100 Meter and 4X200 Meter Relay Teams to victory as well as a New Mexico Team State Championship. As a senior, he again achieved All-State honors in Football while being awarded the 2012 Albuquerque Metro-Player of the Year. Romell was awarded a football scholarship to the University of New Mexico where he was eager to meet his new UNM Athletic family and embark upon his next adventure. Romell graduated from UNM in 2018 and as always eagerly and joyously began his career in a management trainee program with the CINTAS Corporation.
Romell had a smile and infectious personality that would light-up any room. He had the gift of laughter to tears. No matter where Romell went or what success he achieved, he never forgot his friends, family, teammates, coaches or administrators. He brought joy and was always the first to respond in a time of need and had an uncanny ability to turn any problem into a positive. Romell left an amazing group of tightly bonded friends and family in what appeared to extend to every area of the country. Tears today still flow but they will become fewer and further between. The void left will never be filled and Romell the man with an unmatched heart of gold can never be replaced. Romell Lucky Jordan will be missed by all and forgotten by none.
A celebration of Romell’s life will be held at 3:30 Saturday March 2, 2019, at V. Sue Cleveland High School Auditorium, at 4800 Laban Rd. NE Rio Rancho, NM. 87144. Viewing will be available beginning at 3:00 PM.
