Ronald Gniotczynski

October 3, 1943 — November 18, 2011

Gniotczynski, Ronald Ron passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at age 68 after a long fight with cancer and kidney failure. Ron was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin October 3, 1943. He was a true cheese head: an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. Ron could rarely be found on a fall Sunday afternoon without wearing green and gold. Ron was also a bit of a baseball fan, having played ball in high school.
Ron was a truck driver much of his carreer, having worked for Roundy's Foods for 30 years. Ron had retired as a driver and warehouseman for Greenhouse and Garden Supply in Albuquerque. The folks at Greenhouse and Garden supply were not just coworkers, but more like extended family. Ron was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Gniotczynski, and his parents, Raymond and Grace Gniotczynski. Ron is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jorie Gniotczynski, his son Matthew and wife Krishell, and siblings Karen and husband Joe, Joan and husband Jim, children Barbara, Jamie, Ann; Bosco and wife Tammie, children Jenna, Levi, Seth, Luke; brother in law Michael and wife Jeni, mother in law Eve and husband Art Kropp. He is also survived by two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Locally, in New Mexico, his niece Cori and nephew John enjoyed family gatherings, where playing cribbage with Uncle Ron and hearing him tell stories was commonplace. Ron was always good to share stories or a good joke. Ron also enjoyed building puzzles, playing with his dogs Freckles and Chance, and watching Civil War movies. Ron was a staunch Catholic, knowing that his salvation rests in the hands of the Lord Jesus, with whom he now resides. The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Evelyn, Joanna, and Jennifer. Also special thanks to good friends Dawn, Rudy, and Bernadette. Also thanks to the folks at Advantage Homecare, where wife Jorie is currently employed for their kindness. Private funeral services will be held at a later date. Ronald's careen entrusted to:
