Ronald Gonzales

Ronald Gonzales, age 65, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, after a long battle of kidney failure and other health issues.

Ronald was born on July 26, 1958, in Sena, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Janet Gonzales; son, Ron Gonzales (wife, Andrea Gonzales) and grandchildren, Aliya, Ella and Mya Gonzales. Ronald was preceded in death by his Aunt Clara and father-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Cruz.

Ronald will be missed for his sense of humor, his love of the outdoors, and his love for his family, especially for his three granddaughters who were the light of his life. Ronald had a number of talents and hobbies. He was great at so many things he did. He loved music and playing guitar, painting, fishing and of course playing with his granddaughters, who adored their “Papa”. Ronald was a hard worker, always staying busy even when he struggled with his health. He was so strong and continued to fight his health battles for many years. Even on his worst of days he never missed a chance to spend time with his loved ones. He was loved by so many family and friends and always made us laugh and smile. 

As we bid farewell to Ronald, we pray that his soul find eternal peace, and may we honor his memory by spreading love, laughter, and kindness to all beings in this world. He will be dearly missed but forever cherished.
