MANUEL - Rosalie “Rose” Manuel, age 74, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Rose was born in Pena Blanca, NM to the late Atilano and Josefita “Pepa” Leyba and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. Rose was the owner and operator of Poodle Coiffures Dog Grooming for 35 years. She enjoyed going to the casinos in her Red Cadillac Deville that she took so much pride in. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Wayne Omar Manuel; her previous husband, Oliver Benavidez; and two children, Ronald and Liza Benavidez. Rose is survived by her loving children, Geraldine Martinez and husband Pres, Mary Benavidez, Eddie Benavidez; her precious grandchildren, Vanessa, Jennifer Martinez, Gabrielle Montoya, Josh and Amanda Benavidez; her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel Morris, Amaya Rose and Alayla LeFevre. Also surviving are her brother and sisters, Virginio Leyba, Ursula Martinez, Martha Mares, and Katie Sanchez; and other numerous relatives and friends. Rose will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM, 301 N. Camino Del Pueblo. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket Bearers will be Chad Morris, Britton Rose, Gerald Martinez, Chris Martinez, Joshua Benavidez, and Michael Leyba. Honorary Bearers will be Vanessa Martinez, Jennifer Martinez, Gabrielle Montoya, and Amanda Benavidez. The wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Cardiac Care Physicians, Nurses at Presbyterian Hospital and Kindred Hospital for the care attention given to our beloved mother. Special thanks to Pres Martinez, son-in-law for being there to help and taking care of Rose; and to her loving sisters, Ursula and Martha, who were always there to help her.
