Apodaca, Rose E.  
Age 83, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017. She was born in Magdalena, NM on September 19, 1933. The eldest of 17 children, Rose was raised by her loving grandmother, Francisca. She began her career in 1968 at Eagle Pitcher. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM to work for Honeywell and Sperry. She later returned to Socorro, NM and began employment with NRAO where she remained until her retirement after 22 years of service. Rose was very outgoing and full of life. She maintained special relationships with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. SHE LOVED TO DANCE AND LOVED GOING TO THE CASINO. Rose touched the lives of many, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Estrada; grandmother, Francisca; husband, Primitivo Apodaca; son, Robert A. Pino; her first grandson, Michael John Pino; brothers, Vincent, Ray, Pete and Buddy Estrada; sister, Lydia Candalaria. Rose is survived by her children, Isabel Torres (Alex Mendiola), Rita (Bob) Taylor-Wilcox, Michael Pino, Rose Ann Chavez (Tom Day), Mary Ellen Chavez (Jim Hathoway) and Eddie (Linda) Padilla; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Montano; and brothers, Jerry, Nay, Tony and Edward Estrada. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. The Mass of Resurrection will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 9:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorro. Celebrant Father John Anasiudu. Pallbearers are Bethany Morales, Cassandra Chavez, Michael Torres, Robert Torres, Stephanie Martinez and  Brianna Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Rose's grandsons, Nellie Chavez "Hija Mayor", Brenda Valdez and children and son in law Bob Wilcox. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
