Roy J. Amis

Roy J. Amis, age 95, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020. He was born in Buckhorn, KY on February 1, 1924 to and Luther Amis and Martha Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Miller. Roy is survived by son Roy Amis and daughter-in-law Deloyes Amis; grandchildren Cynthia Tessman and Robert Burre; nieces Paula Brown, Roxanne Day and Teresa Amis; and nephews Dennis Haywood and Glenn Muscio. Mr. Amis was in WWII from 1939-1945 where he was ranked Staff SGT. He was employed at Getty Oil Co. for 38 years and on his spare time he loved to go camping and fishing. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

A Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral ~ Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will take place at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs NM at 2:00 p.m on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
