Rudy Joe Garcia, 93, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on December 6, 1932, in Albuquerque to Fidel M. Garcia and Antonia Saavedra.
Rudy graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1951 and attended New Mexico State University. On June 9, 1956, he married the love of his life, Frances Bertha Sammons, at St. Ann Church in Albuquerque. They shared 70 years of marriage.
Rudy was a self-employed construction contractor and owned and operated Casa de Garcia for 50 years. He took great pride in his work and was also passionate about breeding racehorses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel M. Garcia and Antonia Saavedra; and his siblings, Rose, Martha, Robert, Joe, Leroy, Lupa, Loretta, and Marie.
Rudy is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Bertha Garcia; son, Gilbert Rudy Garcia (Mia) of Albuquerque; daughters, Geraldine Garcia of Corrales, Claudine Garcia of Albuquerque, Nadine Graham (Ted) of Amarillo, Texas, and Maxine Avila of Albuquerque; brothers, Fidel Garcia Jr. of Tucson, Arizona, and James, Lawrence, Herman, and David Garcia, all of Albuquerque; and sisters, Gaba and Margaret of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristy Pholphiboun, Christopher Garcia, Michael Garcia Chavez, Ryan McGinnis, Sterling Avila, Kacey Graham, Jessica Graham, Caprice Graham, and Charee Graham; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Garcia-Chavez, Kaschen Graham, Karson Morrel, Kaiyo Graham, Stetson Graham, Andrew McGinnis, Julian McGinnis, and Theo Avila.
Rudy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A Service will take place on August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral – Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge, 1530 Barbara Loop SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
