Rufina Moya

Moya, Rufina, age 85, of Albuquerque died Friday, October 28, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her husband, children and family. She was born on August 26, 1926 to the late Fileberto and Catalina Rodriguez Gonzales in Santa Fe, NM. She came from a family of 16 brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Moya; three brothers, Ciprano Gonzales, Eloy Gonzales and Victor Gonzales. Rufina is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eloy Moya of Albuquerque; daughters, Camilla Baca and husband, Julian of Albuquerque, Marie Gonzales and husband, Ben of Chupadero, NM and Frances Ana Chavez and husband, Robert of Phoenix, AZ; sons,Jerome Moya and wife, Cindy of Peralta, NM, Eugene Moya and wife, Joann of Albuquerque, NM, Eloy A. Moya Jr. and wife Yolanda of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Alicia (Daniel) Benavidez, Mariana (Paul) Padilla, Celia (Dominic) Garcia, Elena Gonzales, Marie (Robert) Verdugo, Coral Chavez, Christina, Elizabeth Moya, Angelica and Bonnie Moya; grandsons, Julian A. (Katrina) Baca, Dylan Moya and C.J. (Phoebe) Moya, David and Marcos Gonzales, and Juaquin Moya and Marcelo (Shavannah) Moya; and 17 great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Andres Gonzales, Alfonso Gonzales, Albert Gonzales (Tillie),Benito Gonzales, Miguel Gonzales (Lily), Eddie Gonzales (Christina), Francisco Gonzales (Anita), Richard Gonzales (Grace); four sisters, Angie Lopez (Pete), Mabel Romero (Ben), Rachel Escandon (Antonio), Christina Gonzales. Rufina was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Spanish Choir at Our Lady of the Assumption Church; she and her husband, Eloy were very involved in their parish community life since the early 1950's. Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption, 811 Guaymas Pl NE. A Rosary will be recited at the church at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE, (corner of Lomas and Tennessee).
