It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son, Russell Joseph Gonzales Jr., who left this world on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 17.

Russell’s smile could light up a room, and his charm had a way of softening even the hardest of days. Being near him felt like standing in sunlight—bright, warm, and full of ease. He carried that light everywhere he went, and if you had the blessing of knowing him, you know exactly what that felt like.

Russell lived his life with a fearless sense of adventure and a heart full of love. He loved God with his whole heart, held his family close, and found joy in every experience. Whether he was chasing fresh powder on the mountain, stepping onto the baseball or football field, competing on the wrestling mat, landing a new skateboard trick after weeks of practice, or riding horseback under the open sky, he embraced life fully—with spirit, laughter, and intention.

Russell is survived by his mother Crissy, father Russell Sr, stepfather Sid, stepmother, grandparents, and a large extended family, along with countless friends who loved him deeply and will forever carry his memory.

Services for Russell will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

A Rosary and Vigil will take place on Tuesday, July 29th at 6:00 PM. The church will remain open throughout the night with a candle burning in his honor.

The Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, July 30th at 10:00 AM.

A reception will be held following the services at Cowboy Hall in Bosque Farms.
