Russell Robert Bob"" Settlemyer

SETTLEMYER - R. Robert Settlemyer, passed away on September 18, 2010. Bob was 77 years old and a twenty year resident of Rio Rancho. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a graduate of the University of Iowa where he was a Phi Gamma Delta. He served as a 1st Lt in the United States Air Force, as a jet pilot. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a Jester, a drummer in the Shrine Pipe Band, and a successful businessman in the retail gasoline industry. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Anne, two daughters, Elizabeth and Anna, twelve grandchildren, Orion, Phillip, Jennifer, Kandice, Natalie, Blaine, Andrew, Joseph, Michael, Matthew, Octavian and Veronica, and two great granddaughters, Madilon and Taylynne. He was preceded in death by his brother a fellow pilot, Chick and his eldest daughter, Rebecca. The world has less joy with the passing of this beloved man.
