Ruth Ellen Tavolette

Mrs. Ruth Ellen Tavolette passed away peacefully in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on November 14, 2022, at the age of 88 years old.

Ruth was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Elmira (LeClair) and Albert Stephens.  She attended Pershing High School and later met Mr. Nicholas Tavolette, whom she married in September of 1954, and became the loving mother of their four children, Laura, Donna, Nancy, and Paul.  Ruth and Nicholas later moved to New Mexico in 1986, to begin a new chapter in their lives.  Ruth became involved in many local community groups such as the Dirty Brown Jug Band and Red Hat’s Society.  She also discovered her passion for the theater as a member of the Rio Rancho Theatre Workshop and Adobe Theater Group, where she performed in numerous productions such as “The Wizard of Oz”, “Hello, Dolly” and “I Remember Mama”, as well as serving on the Board of Directors.

Ruth was a loving and outgoing person who always made it a point to share a warm smile and strike up a conversation with the people that she encountered throughout her day.  Ruth is survived by her youngest brother Richard, her four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth’s Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 12^th, 2023, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, located at 1001 Meteor Ave. NE, Rio Rancho, NM, 87144. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 11:30AM, with Mass to begin at 12:00PM noon. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12^th from 3:00PM-6:00PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Chapel, located at 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124.
