Ruthene M. (Scott) McWilliams, 83, of Aztec, went to heaven on Saturday, May 7, 2011. She was born March 8, 1928, on the Scott Family Farm in Aztec. Ruthene graduated from Aztec High School, where she was known as "Scotty." She loved riding her horse, "Pal," and working on the family farm. Ruthene and Robert D. "Bob" McWilliams were married June 6, 1948. They lived in El Paso Natural Gas camps at Largo and Chaco before building a home in Aztec. They later moved to Northwest Pipeline Gobernador Camp, where Bob retired. Wanting to be closer to their children and grandchildren, they moved to Glenrock, Wyo. Bob passed away in 1996. Ruthene returned home to Aztec in 2003, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Ruthene painted many beautiful scenery pictures, and enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping. Her passion was reading her Bible. She looked forward to the coming of the Lord and everlasting life in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lela D. and James F. Scott, husband, Robert D. McWilliams; uncle, Arthur Scott; and great-granddaughter, Tailey McWilliams. Ruthene is survived by her three children, Dana (Bill) Utton of Las Vegas, Nev., Scott (Sally) McWilliams of Glenrock, Wyo., and David (Peggy) of Flora Vista. She had six grandchildren and 12 grandchildren. Pastor Russ Allen will officiate. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Troy Utton, Shantel Smith, Aubrey McWilliams, Aaron Utton, Jay Paul McWilliams, Zeb McWilliams and great-grandson, Ty Utton. Arrangements are with Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec: 405 S. Main Ave.
