STEWART- Sadie Stewart, 55, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, was called home to our Heavenly Father on July 11, 2010. She was born February 2, 1955 in Jackson, MS to parents Louise and Jacob Stewart. She was born into a family with five siblings: Lillie, Jacob Jr., James, Ollie and Jerry. She excelled in school and graduated valedictorian of her 1973 class from CM&I in Jackson. She joined the Air Force in 1974 and served until her retirement in 2002. During her time in the Air Force she married George Browne and from this union birthed two children, Tori Browne and Brittany Browne. She also met Denise Lewis, who would prove to be a lifelong friend as well as a strong ally. In the Air Force she also met many other good friends. After retirement, Sadie enjoyed the company of her children and her four grandchildren, Dontae and Derrick Hollins; and James and Jayla Davis. She is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jerry Stewart. She is also preceded by her father Jacob Stewart. Others preceding her are her two grandmothers Maybelle Jones and Jeanetta Hooker, her favorite cousin Elizabeth Adams, and a niece that is named after her, Saadia Stewart. Sadie is survived by her mother Louise Stewart; her husband George Browne; her daughters Tori Hollins (Derrick) and Brittany Browne (James), of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Ollie Kimbrough (Eddie) of Jackson, MS, and Lillie Williams (Henry) of Muskegon, MI; and one brother, Jacob Stewart Jr. of Jackson, MS. Survivng her also, are six nieces and five nephews, 12 great-nieces and four great-nephews, and two great-great nephews. She has four aunts and two uncles, as well as a plethora of cousins surviving. In her life, Sadie always strived for success and tried to show everyone how to achieve their goals. She was a dedicated worker and put her all into everything she did. She loved people and always tried to be compassionate and loving no matter what. Above all else, she was vastly supportive to her family and was there for them at all times. Sadie cared for every person in her family and was known by all as the rock of strength that could be turned to in any situation. She was a strong-willed, forward-thinking woman who sought to break every barrier she faced. Her zest for life will remain unmatched by anyone. She was zealous beyond measure. She touched and had an affect on nearly every person she encountered, and always left a lasting impression with her warm spirit. There are not enough words to describe Sadie's stellar character, but she will most definitely be missed. The Viewing and Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Peoples Funeral Home, 886 N. Farish, Jackson, MS, 601-969-3040. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1900 Bailey, Jackson, MS. Mrs. Stewart will be laid to rest with full USAF Honors at 9:00 on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
