Sally C. Valencia, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community member, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on August 2, 1936, in the quaint town of Sena, NM, Sally's journey through life was marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering love for her family and faith.
Sally devoted many years of her life to the UNM Bookstore, where her kindness and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of interacting with her. Her passion for her work was matched only by her fervent dedication to her church, St. Edwin’s, where she found solace and joy, supporting her church community with her heartfelt devotion.
To many, she will be remembered not just for her career, but for the joys she found outside the workplace. She had a zest for life that drew people to her. An avid camper, Sally cherished the time spent outdoors, enveloped by the serenity of nature. In addition to her love for camping, she was also an exceptional cook and seamstress, often pouring her love into meals that brought her family together, and crafting gifts that filled hearts with warmth.
Sally is survived by her loving sons, Joey, Pete, and Anthony Valencia, as well as her daughter-in-law, Cindy Valencia, who cherished her dearly. The light of her life also continues to shine brightly through her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Each one carries a piece of her spirit and values, a testament to the loving family she nurtured throughout her life.
She now joins her beloved husband of 66 years, Pedro Valencia, and her son, Benito Valencia, who passed before her. She is also reunited with her cherished parents, Cruz and Florentina Sisneros, whose influence shaped the generous and loving woman she became.
Sally C. Valencia leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and memories that will forever warm the hearts of those she has touched. Her spirit will live on in the laughter of her children, the hugs of her grandchildren, and the cherished memories of family gatherings that she so deeply treasured.
