Blackgoat died Feb. 26, 2010, in Flagstaff. He was born May 14, 1922, in Lupton, into the Black Sheep People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan. Blackgoat worked for the railroad and did farm work in Idaho. He loved carpentry. Survivors include his sons, Elvin Blackgoat of Lupton, Freddy Blackgoat of Phoenix, Roy Gene Blackgoat of Allentown, Sammy Blackgoat, Lupton, Morgan Blackgoat; daughter, Genevieve Maclin of Edgewood, MD.; brothers, Raymond Blackgoat of Shiprock, Wilson Blackgoat of Blackhat; sisters, Sala Blackgoat of Tse Bonito, Ella Perez of Sedona, Verna Henry of Lupton, Elouise Blackgoat of Gallup, Bernice Clayton of Cortez, Colo., Sherry Blackgoat of Vanderwagen; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Blackgoat was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Morgan Blackgoat; brothers, Franklin B. Davs, Ben Blackgoat, Nelson Blackgoat; son, David Sam Blackgoat; parents, Mose Blackgoat, Yadeebah Blackgoat. Pallbearers will be Elvin Blackgoat, Freddy Blackgoat, Roy Gene Blackgoat, Sammy Blackgoat, Raymond Davis, Everette Estitty.
