Gallegos, Sandra  
Age 74, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at her home in Socorro, NM with her family at her side. She was born in Marion, IN on August 2, 1942, to Vaughn and Dorothy (Eddy) Shields. Sandra grew up and graduated from high school in Gas City, IN. She was a very caring and compassionate person and would help anyone and everyone. She was very devoted to her family and a woman of strong faith. Sandra enjoyed fishing, working word puzzles and she loved to crochet. She liked to watch the horse races and watch her favorite sports teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Dallas Cowboys. Sandra enjoyed fishing and her trips to the casino. She worked for Socorro General Hospital as the Business Office manager and retired after 33 years of service. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; step father, William Eddy Sr.; son, Marvin Gallegos; grandson, Zachary W. Gallegos; brother-in-law, Wayne Clanin; and sister, Lynn Nestor. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Damacio "Deno" Gallegos, Sr.; daughters, Sandra Coronado and Danita Valdez and husband, Louie; sons, Damacio Gallegos, Jr. and Rupert Garcia and wife, Karla; step daughter, Karen Valenzuela and husband, Morris; sisters, Patricia Harper and husband, Paul, Phillis Clanin and Mary Peters; brother, William Eddy and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Miranda Coronado, Louie Valdez Jr., Christopher Valdez, Damacio D. Gallegos III and wife, Stephanie, Amelia Gallegos and Zachary Gallegos; great grandchildren, Lanaya, Rupert Jr. and Layla Garcia, Josiah Montoya, Makayla, Louie III, Miguel, Eva, Christopher Jr., Eden, Adam and Sky Valdez, Grace Gallegos and Olivia Sanchez; and many nieces and nephews. Rosary to be recited on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 8:30 AM at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection immediately following at 9:00 am.  Inurnment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Christopher Valdez, Louie Valdez Jr., Zachary M. Gallegos, Dean Gallegos, Amelia Gallegos and Miranda Coronado. Honorary Pallbearers are Pat Beach, Rupert Garcia, and Darla Baca.
