Sandra Jane Rivers

Sandra Jane Wilsford Rivers, lovingly known as Sandi, was born on March 7, 1942, and passed away on January 16, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Sandi was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Doug Rivers. She is survived by her daughter Lesa Terrell and son-in-law Dave Terrell of Vail, Arizona; her son Larry Rivers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her cherished grandchildren Candice Huckins, Justin Terrell, Cheyanne Chavez, Dakota Rivers, and Dylan Rivers; her brother Bob Wilsford and sister Becky Armstrong; as well as many adored great-grandchildren.

Sandi was affectionately nicknamed “Sunshine” by her husband Doug, who had a gift for giving everyone a special name. True to that nickname, she brought warmth, curiosity, and joy into the lives of those around her.

In her younger years, Sandi loved traveling alongside Doug on their Gold Wing motorcycle, embracing adventure and the open road. She had a deep passion for arts and crafts and a lifelong fascination with UFOs and ghosts. Many fond memories were made during evenings spent on the roof with her best friend Debra, sharing their favorite bottle of wine while watching the skies, always hopeful for the next UFO sighting.

A celebration of Sandi’s life will be held on February 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home, followed by a gathering at Sandi’s home. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, reunited once again.

Sandi will be remembered as the Matriarch of the family, her lighthearted spirit, creative soul, sense of wonder, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends.
