Santiago Arturo Armijo, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 31, 2025, in Albuquerque, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born on May 13, 1944, in the picturesque town of Los Ojitos Frios, Santiago exemplified the pioneering spirit of his generation, embracing every opportunity that came his way.
His journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to serving others, first as a dedicated member of the United States Army and later as a Police Officer. Santiago's career extended beyond the uniform; he worked tirelessly in construction and maintenance, often taking pride in ensuring that everything needing fixing—especially his cherished truck—was attended to with care. His unwavering dedication to his work was matched only by the warmth he exuded in his personal life.
Santiago was known for his magnetic love for country music, often seen strumming his guitar and singing with joy. Music was not just an interest for him; it was a cherished form of expression that brought light and happiness to both himself and those around him. His enthusiasm for life was palpable, inspiring many with his unyielding spirit and genuine laughter.
Santiago's family was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his son, Santiago Armijo, daughter Charlotte Armijo, and son David Armijo. Proud of his lineage, he delighted in every moment spent with his grandchildren—Jim Armijo, Cristian Armijo, Angelina Armijo, Brittany Armijo, Kasandra Armijo, Anthony Armijo, Matthew Chavez, Miranda Armijo, and Alexandra Armijo. His heart swelled with joy at the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Sophia Armijo and Oliver Armijo, who brought more laughter and love into his life.
Though he finds peace now, he will be greatly missed by all, particularly by his in-laws Jack Saiz, Jada Armijo, Elizabeth Chavez, and Wanda Lucero, who appreciated his kindness and affection. Santiago joins his beloved wife Charlotte, daughter Sally Armijo, his mother Acelia Armijo, his father Enrique Armijo, and several brothers and sisters, whose memories will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
As we remember Santiago Arturo Armijo, we are reminded of a life well-lived—a life filled with love for family, dedication to service, and a passion for music that will resonate in our hearts eternally.
